I HAVE MY LOAN!
I feel like I can finally breathe out!! A special *thanks for nothing* goes to Halifax & Royal Mail who did everything they possibly could to mess this up for me.
Between the two of them they delayed the arrival of my bank statements by 6 weeks, which in turn cost me the application of my loan by 5 weeks and very nearly cost me my Masters.
None of the Universities affiliated with the Royal University of the Arts (including the London College of Communication) will not let you start your course without the tuition fees paid in full. Fun huh?
I understand it, they are a business, but it doesn’t mean I agree with it. Essentially, they want tuition fees upfront so that if you drop out (and you have attended for 6 weeks already so they don’t have to give you back a penny) all your monies are belong to them. If they “did installments” all they would get is what you have paid up until drop-out day.
All I have to do now is sit back and wait. I believe I get a letter that I have to get someone at the LCC to sign and then fax back, but then my loan is paid directly to the University so I don’t get to see that or have anything to do with it. Takes a weight off my shoulders thats for sure!
I just hope that everything gets processed super soon so that I can really start to enjoy the start of Uni rather than dreading it!
